Fancy a real whirlwind challenge ? Take a brand new camera, a pretty model, a photographer, an assistant, a hair stylist, a make-up girl, an art director and a time-keeper. Put them all in a capsule of the London Eye and then shoot a balanced light image of the model against the sunset over London, shoot other poses, grab a team shot and get pack away – all in one revolution of the Eye i.e 30 minutes.
This was a shoot which I’ll remember for a long long time. It was the most exciting, challenging and adrenaline-charged shoot I’ve ever shot. Back in November 07, Nikon asked me to test drive the brand new D3 along with the new 14-24mm lens in a way which was not done before. They wanted something very very exciting and challenging to showcase the kit. Plus using the SB800 flashguns in a confined space and time limited shoot to show / prove the speed of the system i.e setting up, shooting continuously and then packing up. In short, pushing the flashguns to its absolute limits (which I did).
So in short, we had to board the capsule at the London Eye, set up, shoot, pack up all in 30 minutes. I also had to shoot an image worthy of a cover shot for the SWPP Conventin Guide + images for a 4 page article. No pressure at all!!

These are the results and some of my favourite shots.
We managed to shoot a group shot just before disembarking.
